The Headquarters Air Force Personnel Center (HQ AFPC) switched from the traditional static page Web Site to the dynamic RightNow Technologies (RNT) model. In this model, users are asked to type questions. The RNT system evaluates the "answers" available and sorts them in "most relevant" to "least relevant" order depending on both the words used in the question AND the most recent "frequency" with which particular questions have been called up.
Where possible, "Direct Links" have been provided. There is no guarantee that these links will continue to operate as expected if the web site is upgraded. The following PDF files show how to SEARCH for the desired page regardless of any future changes to the underlying coding and organization of the RNT pages.
The following PDF documents represent "screen prints" of how to Navigate through the RNT front-end and arrive at the most current version of the information you desire. This page contains links to the Air Force Military Testing Page, the Weighted Airman Promotion System (WAPS) Page, and the Military Classification Page.
The Air Force Military Classification structure is updated twice a year and published "as of" the end of April and the end of October. Depending on the needs of your current project, you will need to decide if the April or October standard is most applicable. These examples were done in late October 2006 and reflect the "draft" versions of the 31 October 2006 standard. Be sure, however, that if you download an "October" standard, it is for 2006 and not the outdated 2005 documents. As of the date of these examples, the April 2006 documents were still the official standard although the October 2006 versions, at this point, are available and the recommended standard to use.
This site does not provide copies of the current Air Force standards -- it only shows HOW TO OBTAIN this information currently available directly from the United States Air Force's official source. (Procedures in Effect As of 27 Oct 2006)
All Examples target ENLISTED and OCTOBER options although OFFICER and/or APRIL may be more suitable to the reader's current needs and may perform the substitutions accordingly.
